Dr. Bruno Basso was featured in MSU Today’s 2025 Year in Review for his nationally recognized work improving the credibility of agricultural carbon markets. Basso and his team developed a new, science-based method to more accurately measure the climate benefits of farming practices such as no-till and cover crops, helping ensure that farmers are fairly credited for real greenhouse gas reductions. Tested across 12 Midwestern states and highlighted by The New York Times, the research strengthens trust in regenerative agriculture investments and underscores MSU’s leadership in climate-smart agricultural innovation.
