Soil-Driven Solutions: Dr. Basso Leads the Way at Dirt to Glass 2025
April 11, 2025
Dirt to Glass 2025, Michigan’s premier grape and wine industry conference, returns to Traverse City on August 21–22 with the theme “From Intention to Impact.” The event brings together growers, winemakers, researchers, and national thought leaders for two days of practical insights and strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening Michigan’s wine industry.
A key highlight of this year’s program is Session 5: “Banking on Soil: Farming for a Future We Can Count On,” led by Dr. Bruno Basso of Michigan State University. Dr. Basso, a global expert in agroecosystem modeling, will share research-based insights into how soil health, carbon tracking, and water-use modeling can drive both ecological sustainability and financial resilience in Michigan vineyards. This session is especially critical for those looking to turn data into action and build a future-ready wine industry from the ground up.
